A FATHER'S LOVE (SEEDLING
x SEEDLING) (L.
DeVillier) - has
been a special seedling for us, which now holds a very special name. It
represents and holds dear, both of our father's love and our love for
them in their recent passing. This outstanding performing tetraploid seedling, is a 5 1/2" diamond dusted peach pink, with a
golden blend radiating out from the gold to green throat. It's further
enhanced with an extremely ruffled & braided gold edge easily 1/2" wide
most days. It has beautiful dark-green arching semi-evergreen
foliage, 25" tall scapes with 4-5 way branching and 25 - 30 bud count. It's both pod &
pollen fertile, and now producing some exciting offspring of it's own.
This early to mid season cultivar, re-blooms with the same vigor and
stamina on it's second, third & fourth scapes here in late September as
it's first in early - mid May. Truly, the only daylily still
profusely blooming in our garden during the dog days of summer here in
central Texas. |
